After School Services

Academic Coaching/Tutoring

As part of our commitment to reach out and help students who are not PowerThink Academy students, we offer the following services:

Individual Academic Coaching is offered on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday  from 4:00-5:30PM in Math, Reading and Writing.  We also provide help to students preparing for High School Entrance Exams, the ACT and the SAT. 

We teach our after-school students in exactly the same way that we teach our full-time students—the way in which they learn.  Using the same principles that guide our work with students during the school day, our after-school students learn how to achieve academic success in a subject that may be challenging for them.  The students also learn strategies and skills that can be applied to any academic subject.  In other words, we help them to learn-how-to-learn. 

The fee for our coaching services is $65.00/hour.

Parent Education Evenings

In an effort to reach out to parents, we offer Parent Education Evenings throughout the school year.  Speakers on various topics related to child development and education are invited to share their expertise.  Specific topics and speakers will be announced as they become available.
